What We Teach

Curriculum & Activities

Research-based, age-appropriate learning designed to prepare every child for kindergarten and beyond.

Curriculum Statement

Home4Kidz provides research-based materials designed specifically for early childhood education. We draw from a variety of early childhood development resources that are also used by many local preschools and elementary schools.

Our program uses the Healthy Beginnings and Maryland Early Learning Standards (birth–8 years) curricula for activities and lesson planning. These serve as a general guide, and we thoughtfully modify lessons and activities to meet the developmental needs of each child in our program.

We ensure that all curriculum materials match the age range of children in our care — between 2 and 8 years old. The Healthy Beginnings curriculum is used for children ages 1 to 3, and Maryland's Early Learning Standards curriculum is used for children ages 3 and beyond.

Our curriculum helps children become comfortable in group settings by building trust, forming friendships, and adapting to their environment. Through the confidence they develop, children grow in independence and self-control, which also enables them to express themselves and maintain a positive attitude toward life. When children feel comfortable and confident, they are not afraid to tackle new skills, learn new things, and become problem solvers. Our activities also strengthen children physically — building muscle skills and helping them explore what their bodies can do.
